The Government of Japan plans a new system for international students coming from Ukraine to Japan
An interview with the Japan Broadcasting Association revealed the following plans by the Government of Japan.
The Japanese government has decided to provide a new scholarship of more than 110,000 yen a month for international students evacuating from Ukraine to Japan due to the military invasion by Russia. The government is planning to start recruiting about 100 people soon.
The recipients of the scholarship are Ukrainian students who entered Japan after the military invasion in February and Ukrainian students who are planning to study abroad. The Government of Japan plans to start providing support to those who are currently enrolled in the university or who have been recommended by the Japanese embassy.
The content of this study abroad system is that a monthly scholarship of 117,000 yen will be provided, and the actual expenses will be paid when traveling from now on, and the entrance fee and tuition fee will be borne by the government or the university. The period is one year.
This support is provided using the government-sponsored international student system to develop human resources involved in the education and research of Japanese language and culture.
Although the examination is conducted by an interview test, Japanese language ability and knowledge of specialized fields are not required so much. The Japanese government is expected to start recruiting about 100 people soon, and to start supporting it in July at the earliest.
