The Toyota Museum is an exhibition facility constructed in 1989 as part of Toyota’s 50th anniversary commemoration project. In 1999 (Heisei 11), in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Toyota Museum Opening, the new wing opens and exhibits the history of Japan in relation to human lifestyle and life culture.
Based on the theme of car history for about 100 years since the birth of gasoline cars, not only Toyota vehicles but also automobiles from each country and each manufacturer manufactured from the end of the 19th century to the 20th century are systematically displayed.
72 cars, including Carl Benz’s first gasoline car made in 1886 (Meiji 19), were exhibited, and in 2017 the exhibition that had been separating the permanent exhibition on the 3rd floor of the main building into traditional domestic cars and Western cars, Every 10 years since the 1950 ‘s changed to 5 age groups and completely newly installed.
